Liz sat on her bed, staring at the open suitcases that were laid out on the floor, she knew that she should start packing for her return to Milieux but she was rather reluctant in doing so.
It had been over a day since the events in Moscow and life at the BPRD was slowly returning to normal.
Or at least as normal as it ever got for the BPRD.
She had been given the option of rejoining as a full time agent but she had refused, despite the fact that she had been considering moving back permanently for some days now, she tried reasoning with herself that it wasn't going to be like the other times ... she was going to come back if she was needed but she still felt uneasy about leaving again.
This time she knew that it was about Hellboy, she didn't like the idea of leaving him again considering what had happened over the past week and a half or so, especially the circumstances of the weekend but she wasn't entirely sure what she was going to about it.
They had managed to get to the right location and after Hellboy had 'asked for directions' from one of the residents in the graveyard, they had managed to find the right building that they needed to go to.
Unfortunately as soon as they had entered the old building they had instantly been separated by booby traps. After some initial instructions, to which Liz had said she'd say Marco if anyone saw anything, Hellboy would say 'Polo', the groups had set off in their separate directions.
After some time Liz and John were now examining one of the tunnels that they had wound up in.
It had been over a week and a half since she had returned to the BPRD and Liz had not spoken to Hellboy since her arrival. She was worried about him and in the end she had finally gone to see Abe who was still recovering from his attack a couple of weeks ago too see what he thought she should do.
After she had talked to Abe, she went to find Hellboy. She had a pretty good idea on where he might be and she easily found him in the library where he was reading over a couple of books. She had heard that he was going to be part of the team going to Moscow, despite Agent Manning's disproval, but she had been given a choice if she wanted to go with them, she was pretty certain that she had now made up her mind on what she was going to do.
Liz had cried on and off since she had returned to the BPRD late last night. She had managed to keep her composure enough during the trip home but the minute that she stepped into the BPRD headquarters and had been greeted by John, who had stayed up to wait for her, the tears had started to fall again.
John had just held her, allowing her to cry for however long she needed to.
She had had a restless night sleep and she felt it the next day but the lack of sleep was the last thing on her mind. She still hadn't seen HB around anywhere since she got back but then she also wasn't sure if he knew that she had returned.
Most of the day had gone by in a blur.
Finally in the late afternoon John suggested that they go out for coffee, saying that it might be good for Liz to go outside even it was only just for a short period of time. Liz didn't know how to respond, the last thing she felt like was going out but maybe it wouldn't hurt to go out just for little while.
[ooc: for the one who knows who he is. NFB due to distance!]
She had been sitting at the kitchen table of her apartment, finishing off a cup of coffee when her phone started ringing. She got up from where she was sitting to pick up the phone, wondering who the person was that was calling her.
For the next several minutes Liz just sat at the table sobbing. She could not comprehend the fact that the man that she loved like a father, who had been a better father than what her real one had turned out to be, was gone.
After class had finished, Liz made her way back to the her apartment. She knew that she needed to call Professor Broom and she couldn't keep putting it off despite how much she didn't want to have to call and tell him about what happened a couple of weekends ago.
She finally stopped stalling and picked up the phone, taking a deep breath she dialed the number that reached Professor Broom's office and she desperately hoped that he wouldn't be in.
After she hung up the phone Liz sat down on the couch with a sigh, if it was indeed confirmed that the two who had come after her, targeted her because of her involvement with the BPRD...there was the very real chance that they were going to try and get her again. What was she going to do? She didn’t want to leave Milieux but she was frightened about the idea of them coming after her again, especially since they knew where she was.
Liz had woken up fairly early on Sunday morning and she had been finalizing her lesson plan for her class on Tuesday before it was time for her to head to her shift at the Crystal Fox. She had heard the reports about the violence that had been going on in the town this past weekend and she was rather nervous about the idea of leaving her apartment while it was still going on. She just hoped that she wouldn't be caught in the crossfire.
Liz stared at the phone after he had hung up, feeling rather bad. She hadn't meant to be harsh but she had a feeling that he wouldn't listen to her regardless of how she said it. She just wasn't ready to go back to the BPRD, she wasn't sure if she'd ever be really ready to go back.
She sighed as she sat down on a chair, half of her was hoping that he wouldn't make any more attempts at asking her to go back but at the same time the other half of her hoped that he would.
